MeadowBrook Construction Inc. is seeking a motivated and skilled 4th/5th Year HVAC Service Apprentice to join our Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) Service team. Working closely with experienced Journeypersons, this role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems while developing trade skills in a safe, supportive, and growth-oriented environment.

This position is ideal for an apprentice entering the final stage of their training who is eager to gain hands-on experience and build a long-term career with a company that values craftsmanship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, service, and maintenance of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Work under the supervision of licensed Journeypersons to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and associated equipment.
  • Support system testing, diagnostics, and repairs while ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, materials, and equipment used.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies on job sites and in the shop.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members to ensure a positive service experience.
  • Participate in company training sessions and continuous learning opportunities to advance trade skills.

Experience

Minimum 4 years of apprenticeship or trade experience.

Experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Familiarity with Mechanical Refrigeration, Gas, and Building Codes.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.

Safety-conscious with the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Physical Requirements.

Capable of heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and ladder work.

Comfortable working in physically demanding and varied site environments.

Education & Licensing

Registered 4th or 5th Year HVAC Apprentice (313A pathway).

Valid ODP Certification.

Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) License.

Gas Fitter 1 License recommended.

Valid WHMIS Certification and Working at Heights training.

Valid G-Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
