Have you got what it takes?
We are looking for an HVAC Installer to work on refrigeration, cooling and combined heating cooling combination systems including, industrial, commercial and institutional settings.
Responsibilities
- Plans, lays out, installs, starts-up connects, tests, verifies commissions and decommissions refrigeration and air conditioning systems, electronic components and their accessories
Installs and connects piping for the purpose of conveying all types of refrigerants used for both primary and secondary heating and cooling - Checks efficiency outputs and parameters; inspects and checks operation and integrity of components; determines set points; replaces defective, leaking discolored and worn components; performs shut-downs and lock outs; makes adjustments to pressures and controls; cleans and lubricates components; checks calibrations, reassembles and repairs components and systems; starts-up tests and charges the systems
- Measures, cuts, bends threads and connects pipe to functional components and utilities and services, tests, adjusts, commissions and decommissions the system
- Fit and join sheet metals parts using riveting, welding, bolting and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, general ductwork, and fire penetrations.
- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed and lay out measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
- Working with tools and equipment to cut, bend or straighten sheet metal
- Welding sheet metal parts
- Draw duct fittings for fabrication
- Order ductwork and fittings as per SMACMA requirements.
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
- Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal
Here are the skills you bring to the team:
- Registered Apprentice and in good standing with Skills Trade Ontario
- Must have a minimum work experience of 3-5 years
- Valid Trade Certificate (WHMIS, WAH, Life License)
- Proficiency in HVAC system installation techniques
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and ability to deal with problems in a professional and efficient manner
- Must be a problem solver, self starter and have the ability to work independently
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean abstract.
